Daultan Leveille
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
My path to becoming a Registered Psychotherapist was anything but traditional. Before working with clients, I spent nearly a decade playing professional hockey—a journey that took me across various provinces, states, and countries. This experience not only shaped who I am today, but also gave me the privilege of connecting with people from all walks of life, each contributing to my growth in meaningful ways.
While competing as a professional athlete, I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Michigan State University. Lifelong learning has always been important to me. After sustaining several significant injuries, I recognized it was time to take the next step in my personal and professional development. I enrolled in the Master of Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University to pursue my passion for supporting individuals facing mental health challenges.
During this transition, I was introduced to the world of firefighting through a program designed for professional athletes. The initiative highlighted the natural alignment between athletic experience, teamwork, and the demands of a firefighting career. This opened the door to a new way of serving others while still working within a team-focused environment. Early in my firefighting career, I joined my department’s Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team, providing support and debriefings to colleagues after traumatic events.
Now, as I continue to navigate both professions, I’m deeply committed to supporting first responders, their families, athletes, and anyone facing the daily challenges that can dim our sense of purpose. I’m passionate about helping others reconnect with their resilience and discover a path forward that feels meaningful and fulfilling.
